Pamela Susan (Flack) Hogan
passed away at Rome Memorial
Hospital on December 27th. She was
predeceased by her parents C.
Edward and Betty (Cary) Flack, and
survived by her husband, John J.
Hogan; her son, Mark Hogan; and
brother and sister-in-law, Cary
and Deb Flack.
Pam grew up in Rome and was a
graduate of Rome Free Academy and
SUNY Oswego, where she received
her Bachelor's in Anthropology.
She worked at DDSO as a
Habitational Specialist until she
retired, having made many friends,
touching the lives of everyone she
worked with, and finding pride in
the work she did. In 1985 she
married John at Raquette Lake, and
the family continued to return to
the Adirondacks for decades.
She was a loving and caring
person, having taken care of her
parents with the help of her
husband and brother's family for
years. She contributed to many
charities, and was always willing
to help people out of the goodness
of her heart. She loved to laugh,
had a marvelous sense of humor,
and was perpetually upbeat and
positive. A homebody at heart, but
loved to hear about the trips and
adventures of everyone, and was
always listening to music or
reading a book to gain new
perspective. She was also creative
and artistic, spending much of her
youth painting and drawing, and
eventually getting into crocheting
which she did to make gifts for
all of her friends and loved ones.
A memorial service will be held 6
pm Monday January 5, 2026 at
Strong-Burns & Sprock Funeral
Home, 7751 Merrick Rd. Rome, NY.
Relatives and friends may call at
the funeral home Monday from 4 to
6 pm. In lieu of flowers,
donations in Pam's memory may be
made to the charity of your
choice.
