Darlene Quinton

  September 10, 1952 - October 27, 2023

Darlene Ann Quinton, born on September 10, 1952, passed away on October 27, 2023.

Daughter of the late Angelo and Olga (Kowal) Giansanti, she was the loving mother of two boys, Kevin Quinton and Daniel Quinton and proud grandmother of two grandchildren, Rachel Quinton and Isabella Quinton. Darlene also shared a very special bond with her twin sister, Deborah Giansanti. Darlene's nephew, William Flemings, held a cherished place in her heart as her own. She is also survived by William's loving family, Brandi Flemings and three wonderful children, Anello, Ansliegh and Jasia and special mention of their late son, Angelo.

Darlene's warmth and generosity extended beyond her immediate family. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel like part of her own family. Her door was always open to friends and relatives and she welcomed them with open arms. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and hospitality that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In her early years, Darlene was a dedicated part owner and operator of Sisto's Resturant in Rome, NY. This was the second location of her father Angelo's original location. There her passion for people shone brightly. Later, she transitioned to a meaningful career at the New York State School for the Deaf, where she served, tirelessly, for over 25 years. Darlene's deep connection to the deaf community was further enriched by her personal experience, as both of her parents were deaf. This unique background undoubtedly fueled her passion for working at the NYSSD and the unwavering support for her loved ones. Her ability to empathize and communicate effectively, with her parents and others in the deaf community, was a testament to her remarkable understanding and compassion. Her commitment to her work and her compassion for the deaf community left a lasting impact on the lives of many!

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Prince-Boyd & Hyatt Home For Funerals, Inc., 210 W. Court Street, Rome. You may view the obituary and encouraged to send a message of sympathy online at wwwprinceboydhyatt.com.

I did not know Darlene, but I possibly seen her in Sisto's Restaurant after the relocation to Lower Lawrence St. in the 70's. Sisto's was my favorite restaurant in Rome. - Dennis Parrish

May Darlene's memory be eternal. - Steve Miroy
