Rome lost a
wonderful man this month. William "Bill"
Riegler passed away unexpectedly on August 13,
2013. Bill worked for the Rome Sentinel for
many years. Bill, his wife Jill and their son
Troy have been a monumental part of the Rome
Sentinel's history. Bill was also an avid race
fan and spent most of his spare time at Utica
Rome Speedway with his family. If you have any
memories you would like to share, please feel
free to message them to me. A fund to help
with expenses has also been set up at NBT Bank
853 Black River Blvd in Rome 315-337-7393 c/o

MaryAnn Stagliano Rotolo I worked at the Rome
Sentinel for 16 years. I worked in the
Classified department while Bill worked in
Circulation. I was so saddened when I learned
of his passing. Bill was a friendly, kind, and
caring person. He treated all co workers,
carriers and customers with respect. He and
Jill were a special couple who were
soul-mates. They had a beautiful loving
family. My sincere sympathy to Jill and family
for their loss. Job well done Bill. Rest in
peace.
Judy Wimett I worked with both of them at the
sentinel. There is no one kinder and nicer
than Jill. Bill always had a smile on his face
and they were always happy to be together.
What a shame. My sympathies to Jill and her
family.
Brenda Fosella WOw. I'm shocked he was the
best paper delivery guys I knew. He was the
most polite and happy go lucky guy. I'm gonna
surely miss him. I knew he was starting to
look tired so I told him sit in your car and
I'll get the paper from you when I can. I
didn't know his wife but he always spoke very
highly of her. He always thought of his wife
and sign holiday cards and/or a note of
thank-you with "Love Bill & Jill". I know
I will I probably won't ever see a guy as good
as him.
