Suzanne E. Boiko,
age 69, of Rome, passed away peacefully on
March 31, 2021.
She was born July 4, 1951, in Rome, a
daughter of the late Evaneta Hofferd Stedman
and later raised by her adoptive parents,
the late Clayton and Evelyn Hofferd Schafer.
She graduated from Rome Free Academy in
1970. Suzanne was formerly married to Harold
Hesler. She later married Charles “Chuck”
Boiko, on February 16, 1974; he passed away
on April 13, 2004. She worked in various
Rome businesses, including, Rite Aid, Rome
Bargain Center, Birnie Bus Service and the
Rome Sentinel.
Suzanne was an active person who loved
NASCAR, listening to Country music, Elvis
Presley and dancing.
Suzanne is survived by a daughter and
son-in-law, Nancy Lynn and Thomas Clance of
Alder Creek; a son, Luke C. Boiko of Rome;
four brothers and a sister-in-law, Ray
Hryckewicz of North Western, Warren
Hryckewicz of North Western, John and
Gertrude Stedman of Lee Center, and Billy
Davis of Holland Patent; grandchildren,
Kayla Marie and Dacoda Lynn Clance and Enzo
Boiko; family friends, Bonnie Hesler and
Vicky Val; and many nieces, nephews, cousins
and friends. She was predeceased by a sister
Joan Nellenbach; and sisters-in-law, Ruth
Hryckewicz and Beverly Davis.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday
at 6 p.m., at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W.
Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the
Funeral home, Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m.,
prior to the funeral service. Please wear a
