Robert Wojdyla, 70, of
Charlotte, NC, passed away on June
18, 2022 after a valiant battle
with lung cancer. Though his body
was frail and tired, his spirit
was strong until he decided to
join his beloved Carol.
Bob was born November 7, 1951 in
Rome, NY to the late John and
Dorothy (Wright) Wojdyla.
He was in the automotive industry
while living in NY. After moving
to Charlotte he opened his own
contracting business, Added Touch
Painting & Contracting. Bob
earned many customers over the
years that turned into lifetime
friendships. Anyone that knew Bob,
knew he always had a good story to
share and did not have one
introverted bone in his body.
Music was his passion and his
record collection and antique
radios were his hobbies. He was a
jack-of-all-trades. He could
repair your car, paint a room in
your house, then make a batch of
his delicious chili for dinner.
Bob was a selfless, loyal man. He
put the needs and concerns of
others before his own, always. His
many acts of altruism earned him
the nickname “The Mayor” in the
neighborhood he lived in since
moving to Charlotte. He would
often make his “rounds” in the
neighborhood to make sure his
neighbors were good, stay on top
of the latest events, and simply
because he enjoyed conversation
with others.
He is survived by his daughter
Marie Wojdyla and son Robert
Wojdyla (Ashley); grandchildren
Blake and Cameron.
Bob is predeceased by parents,
John and Dorothy Wojdyla; wife
Carol (Aquillo) Wojdyla and
brothers Jack and Richard Wojdyla.
A celebration of Bob’s life will
be held at a later date with
information to be provided.
In lieu of flowers, the family
suggests that you make a donation
to Hospice & Palliative Care
Charlotte Region.
