On
Saturday, August 1, 2020, Richard E.
Salerno, loving husband and father of three
children, passed away at the age of 68.
He will be greatly missed by
his wife Wendy Caswell; mother, Mary Rose;
children, Lilli, Lauren and Lindsey;
grandchildren, Arden and Truitt; brother,
Patrick; as well as numerous relatives and
friends.
He was preceded in death by
his father, P.J. Salerno.
Richard was born on January,
15, 1952, in Rome, NY. He received his
Bachelor’s Degree from Hartwick College and
a Master’s Degree in Public Administration
from Georgia Southern University.
While working as a Hospital
Administrator, Richard lived in many places
throughout the Southern United States,
including Augusta, GA; Kingsport, TN;
Charlotte, NC; Austin, TX; and Nashville,
TN. He eventually retired to Pinehurst, NC.
Richard had many passions, including food,
cars, music and reading. He’ll be remembered
for his loyalty, tenacity and for always
being a great listener.
There will be a private family
interment.
This
makes me so incredibly sad. I had so
many great discussions with Rich and
Wendy. My heart is so heavy. My love

with Leo, Frank, and me when we drove
down to Daytona Beach in 1969 in my
Mustang. I can't believe it. So
