Pete L. St. Thomas, age 71,
of Rome, passed away peacefully on
August 20, 2024. He was born in
Rome, on October 1, 1952, a son of
the late Salvatore A. and Lillian
Franco St. Thomas.
Pete will best be remembered for
his 23 years as a professional
fire fighter, EMT and diesel
mechanic. He saw his fellow fire
fighters as his brothers. During
this time, he also started his own
successful construction company.
Yet, he was always there when his
family needed him. The loves of
his life were his wife of almost
50 years, Clair (Colangelo), his
only child, Valentina Maria St.
Thomas, and the light of his life;
his granddaughter Lilly Valentina
St. Thomas. His family was his
life. Pete was a very kind and
giving person. He was always the
first to offer a hand, or invite
his fellow fire fighters,
neighbors, his doctors and their
children and grandchildren to come
to his home and fish in his pond.
To know him, was to like him. He
attributed all his miraculous
health comebacks to his wonderful
doctors who never gave up on him,
and above all to Jesus Christ and
the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Pete is survived by his wife of
nearly 50 years, Clair; his
daughter, Valentina Maria St.
Thomas; beloved granddaughter,
Lilly Valentina St. Thomas; his
sister, Cynthia DelPiano of Rome;
dear cousins, nieces, nephews, and
many very close of friends. He was
predeceased by his brothers,
Salvatore A. St. Thomas, III, and
Richard J. St. Thomas.
A Mass of The Resurrection, will
be held on Friday at 11:00 AM, at
St. Peter's Church.
Relatives and friends may call at

Jude Children's Research Hospital.
