It is with much sorrow in
our hearts, but the true knowledge
that our beloved brother, Michael
Fiaschetti, is now with our Holy
Father and loved ones, that we
announce that our brother
peacefully passed away away on
Sunday morning, January 12, 2025.
The son of John and Philomena
Fiaschietti, Michael attended Rome
Schools, graduating from Rome Free
Academy in 1970. Shortly
thereafter, he vacationed in
Florida, for a time, before
returning to his beloved Rome, NY,
the four seasons being more
suitable to him. He took a
management position with the
Carroll's Company of Albany, NY.
Three years later, Mike returned
to Rome, taking on various
positions; an outgoing man, Mike
truly enjoyed driving a cab most
of all. He loved meeting
interesting people and listening
to their of stories. People
enjoyed Mike's company and
appreciated his courtesy and
listening ear.
Through the years, Mike took
college courses of personal
interest. He had many talents,
including one of the most
beautiful soprano voices. Terribly
shy, he'd never let anyone hear it
or join a choir.
Growing up, Mike and Veronica
would draw movie scenes and
animate voices. Still to this day,
we have so many sweet memories. He
grew from "cute little Mikey" to a
very handsome man who displayed
great respect for others and love
of his family. He was always very
caring and concerned for our Mom.
Michael was a warm, very private
and intelligent man who loved
arguing statistics - from athletes
to films to all things history.
Anyone who knew Michael, also knew
that he was the biggest Beatles
fan ever. All our years with
Michael were of love; first
enjoying his sense of humor and
then also appreciating his skills
as a great debater. There was
always a lot to be learned from
his side.
We are proud to say our brother,
Mike, gave his best, despite a
very long battle with diabetes.
Our brother will be missed by
those who knew him throughout his
lifetime, but most of all, by his
loving family, especially his four
siblings: big brother, John;
sister, Veronica; sister,
Kathleen, whose fun and loving
visits included doting upon
Michael with care packages, which
he loved; and brother, Frank, the
youngest of us who remained very
close to Michael from their days
as young boys to Mike's going
home. He will also be greatly
missed by our spouses and
families, who all share in love
and support and comfort us in this
difficult time. Michael also
leaves numerous nieces and
nephews; great-nephews; and many
cousins.
Michael was predeceased by our Mom
and Dad; as well as many aunts,
uncles and cousins.
The sincerest appreciation and all
of our gratitude goes to our
sister-in-law, Sarah Fiaschetti,
our brother, Frank's wife, whose
medical skill, care, concern and
compassion, were most essential in
managing Michael's care for many
years.
The family has entrusted
arrangements with the Bottini
Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.,
Rome. There are no calling hours.
Burial will be in the spring.
Donations may be made, in
Michael's memory, to the American

Rome.
I didn't know Mike well, but we were
on the same team. We all played for
Coach Ray Vaccaro on the Pop Warner
Football team. We practiced under the
hot Roman summer sun in the 1960's at
Pinti Field. We were all in 6th, 7th,
or 8th grade at the time and slowly
becoming men.
Wow,
so sad. - Judi Morreal.
May Mike's
memory be eternal. I remember something
about him being so sick he lost his
hair. I think he was in Coach
Gigliotti's gym class. - Steve Miroy
