Kathleen M. Gordon,
67, passed away at her home in Midwest City,
OK on October 2, 2020, in the care of
Hospice.
Born in Rome, NY on October 10, 1952, she
was the daughter of the late Kenneth E. and
Helene Henry Jacobs. Kathleen was a graduate
of Rome Free Academy Class of 1970. On July
29, 1972, in Rome, she was united in
marriage with Floyd Gordon, Jr. The couple
later relocated to Midwest City when Floyd
was assigned to Tinker AFB, and it became
their permanent home.
For many years, Kathie operated a daycare
from her home and was involved in many
activities in support of military families.
She also received Special Recognition for
her work with families following the bombing
of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in
Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995. In later
years, she liked to crochet hats and
blankets for newborns at the local hospital.
Besides her husband, MSGT (Ret.) Floyd
Gordon, Jr., she is survived by her son,
Floyd Gordon III (Joan Subia) of Misawa,
Japan; daughter, Deidre Nikole Gordon of
Midwest City, OK; grandchildren, Floyd
Gordon IV and Kria Nichelle Gordon of
Hammond, LA, and step grandsons, John and
James Esco of the Phillipines. She also
leaves her sister, Bonnie A. LaSalle of
Rome; brothers, Steven (Cheryl) Jacobs of
Painesville, OH; and Kenneth (Susan) Jacobs
of Wellston, OK, as well as many nieces and
nephews.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased
by her stepfather, Mark R. Humez; sister,
Lisa Humez Haehn, and her granddaughter,
Kira Nikole (Ki-Ki) Gordon.
Services for Kathleen were held at the Ford
Funeral Home in Midwest City on October 9,
2020. If desired, the family suggests
donations to a local Hospice.
