Grace Ferrare

November 3, 1952 - June 29, 2014

Grace T. Jaynes, 61, of Rome, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2014 with her loving family at her side. She was born on November 3, 1952, in Rome, the daughter of Vincent and Phyllis Sparks Ferrare.  Grace was educated in the Rome schools. She was a graduate of RFA, she took accounting with The Utica School of Commerce, and additional classes at MVCC to enhance her culinary skills. For the past 30 years, Grace has been employed at the Eastern Star Nursing Home of Oriskany as the Director of Nutritional Services. Grace didn’t look at  Eqstern Star as a job, it was her second home. She said she felt she belonged there for the residents.

On April 7, 1979 Grace was untied in marriage to Paul G. Jaynes, Sr. Family was everything to Grace. Caring for her husband children, grandchildren, or spending time with her siblings, gave her great joy and happiness.

Surviving are her loving husband Paul; daughter and son-in-law Jesselee and Nino F. Camuglia, Rome; son Paul G. Jaynes, Jr., Rome; five brothers and spouses, Anthony Ferrare, Rome, Steve and Elaine Ferrare, Rome, Joseph and Sue Ferrare, MD, Vincent Ferrare, Rome, and Michael Ferrare, Rome; six sisters and spouses, Marie Yaddow, Rome, Angela and Joe Geno, Cicero, Joni and Joe Cianfrano, Rome, Theresa Ferrare, Rome, Phyllis Kelly, Buffalo, and Mary and Don O’Neil, Verona. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Rosario, Anthony and Samuel Camuglia, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Grace was predeceased by a granddaughter Trinity Camuglia, a brother Joseph, and two brother-in-laws, Morris ( Butch) Yaddow and Mike Kelly.

The family would like to extend a very sincere thank you to all the medical personal who cared for her these past few months, especially the staff at the Eastern Star Home. The care, compassion, and concern, shown to Grace and her family will always be remembered.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Strong- Burns & Sprock Funeral Home, 401 N. George St. Rome. Family and Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. prior to the service. Burial and graveside service will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Turin Rd. Wednesday at 10 a.m. Family and friends are invited to Stanwix Men’s Club following the funeral.
