Fonda M. Cosimeno Garrett,
70, of Batavia, New York, and
formerly of Rome, passed away at
home on Friday January 13, 2023.
She was born in Rome, NY, on March
18, 1952, daughter of the late
Nicholas and Margaret Widrig
Cosimeno. Fonda was a loving,
caring mother, grandmother, and
great-grandmother, who enjoyed
life to the fullest. She loved to
spend time with her family and
long-time companion Gene
D'Ambrosio. Together, they would
take motorcycle rides and frequent
various casinos. Fonda also had a
love for cooking, baking, and
crafting.
Surviving are two sons, Leonard
(Jill) Platt, of South Carolina,
and Richard (Sheila) Platt, of
Canada; a brother, Nicholas
Cosimeno (Mary Taylor); three
sisters, Elaine Marshall, Rose
Ball (Rich Pratt), and Ranee
(Michael) Archer; four
grandchildren, Richard Platt Jr.,
Tyler Platt, Damien Platt, and
Alexis Platt; as well as a
great-grandson, Julian Platt; and
several nieces and nephews. Fonda
was predeceased by her parents,
Nicholas and Margaret Cosimeno;
two brothers, Edward Cosimeno, and
Kenneth Hand; a sister, Christine
Coonrod; and a brother-in-law,
James Marshall.
A Memorial Service and Celebration
of Life will be held on Saturday
February 4, 2023, at the Nicholas
J. Bush Funeral Home, 7751 Merrick
Rd., Rome, N.Y. at 12 p.m. Family
and friends are invited to call at
the Funeral Home, from 11 a.m. to
12 p.m., prior to the service.
