Emilio
G. (Bud) Renzi, 74, of Rome, passed away on
Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at home.
He was born on November 4, 1944 in Buffalo
the son of Emilio J. Renzi. On December 27,
1975 in St. John the Baptist Church he
married Madeline A. Franchino, a blessed
union of 44 years.
Bud was a history teacher at RFA for 34
years (1966-2000). He then worked for Eckerd
Pharmacy as a pharmacy cashier and All State
Insurance Agency for 7 years. He was
involved in the Rome Girls Softball League
as the league treasurer and a coach for many
years. He belonged to the NYS Retired
Teacher’s Assn., the Rome Teachers Assn. as
the treasurer for many years and was a
member of the Toccolana club. He was a
parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church.
Bud is survived by his beloved family, his
wife Madeline; a daughter Christine
(Michael) Crandall of Buffalo; a son Mark
(Amber) Renzi of Rome; his cherished
grandchildren, Alexander and Gabrielle
Crandall, Ella and Vincenzo Renzi; a
step-sister Kathy Lorelle; a step-brother
Jim Badolato; beloved aunts, uncles and
cousins. He was predeceased by his father
Emilio, step-mother Theresa Faro Renzi and a
step-sister Janet Scuderi.
Funeral services will be celebrated on
Wednesday, May 29, at 11 a.m. at St. John
the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian
Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as
celebrant. Entombment will be in the Padre
Pio Columbarium.
Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday,
May 28, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Bottini
Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
Contributions may be made in Bud’s name to
the Humane Society of Rome or the Jervis
Library. Envelopes will be available at the
funeral home.
