Dennis J. Calandra, Sr.,
56, 6840 Liberty St.
passed away on Sunday, November 8,
2009 with his loving family by his
side. He was born on November 17,
1952 in Rome
a son of Jasper and Mary Parisi
Calandra. On March 19, 1989 he
married Barbara Schipano. He had
retired from Revere Copper Products
and was co-owner, with his brother,
of Jay’s Bike Shop.
He was a high school graduate.. He
was a life member of Stanwix Men’s
Club and the Copper City Cruisers.
He enjoyed Karate, Harley-Davidson
Motorcycles and classic cars.
Dennis is survived by his beloved
family; his wife of 20 years,
Barbara, three daughters and a
son-in-law; Tanya and Josh VanCourt
of Oriskany, Rosemary McKenzie of
Rome and Stefanie Calandra of Rome,
two sons; Dennis Calandra, Jr. of
FL. and Natale Calandra of Rome,
three grandchildren; Mason “his
little man” VanCourt, Alicia
Calandra and Santino Calandra, a
sister Karen Calandra of Lee Center,
a brother and sister-in-law; Jasper
“Jay” and Palma Calandra of Rome,
special friends; Ray Wakulik,
Joe-Joe “ Brown” Calandra and Joey
Fazio, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a sister Toni
Marie Calandra.
