David C. Hepworth, 60, of Rome,
passed away on December 8, 2011
after a lengthy illness. He was
born in Rome
on March 16, 1951, the son of
David J. and Marguerite Denslow
Hepworth. David received his
education in the Rome
schools and was a member of the
graduating R.F.A. class of 1970.
He was formerly married to Michele
Parkhurst.
David enjoyed the outdoors. In
his younger years, fishing and
hunting were his favorite
pastimes. Due to health issues,
hunting became a memory and
fishing remained a joy. Fridays
were always a special day as he
ate breakfast with the men’s bible
group from the Redeeming
Love
Fellowship
Church.
David formerly was employed by
ConMed and prior to that for many
years was employed by Revere
Copper and Brass and
Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste.
Surviving are his daughter,
Amanda Hepworth of Camden;
sisters Daphne and William
Micklovic, N.J., Sheila and Frank
Hawkins, Jr., FL, Rita and Frank
Sarasy, Ilion, Valerie Cummings, Rome, and
Jane and Walter Guiney, Herkimer;
brothers Calvin and Angie Hepworth
and John and Teri Hepworth, both
of Rome.
Also surviving are several aunts,
uncles, nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased by his parents, and
brothers Samuel and H. Stewart.
The family would like to thank Rome
Hospital,
doctors, nurses and staff for
their care and compassion.
Funeral services will be held
Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Redeeming
Love
Fellowship
Church,
Stittville. Interment in Townsend
Cemetery,
Stittville. Friends may call at
the Strong and Burns Funeral Home,
401 N. George St.
on Monday from 1 to 3 p.m. or 5 to
7 p.m.
In consideration of David’s
illness and inability to work, his
family will gratefully accept
donations from those wishing to do
so to help defray the cost of his
funeral.
